I was persuaded by my friend Cathy to do a last minute craft fair in our small town as the council were trying to make use of our outdoor facility and stalls were free. So here are some of the last minute cards I made with images i'd already coloured or cut out and backgrounds i'd played with.
The top one is a background I made by mixing clear texture paste with green mica and putting it thru the scrap of some push out flowers. I used the one of the square grand dies to cut it out and used a bigger size for the next layer in mint green card. I layered a piece of multi colour flower ribbon over it and found a decoupage teddy in my stash. I used 3 coloured ceramic daisy flowers and put a green organza ribbon on top and a daughter sentiment under the ribbon was the finishing touch about 20mins work.

This one is a circle stencil on white card with glue thru then blue glitter and layered onto pink card. A decoupage fairy in placed onto a spellbinder die shape in deep pink then I cut some pink and blue poinsettias and mixed them with pink and blue flowers I had. I layered them to make it look like the fairy is sitting in them (as all good fairies should be)! I used a pink leaf flourish coming up out of the flowers at each side and found a pink sentiment any layered it onto a blue circle. I also had to two outline flowers already and popped some blue half pearls on them with pink on some of the other flowers and that was it about 20mins again. I tend to pick my topper first and choose my colours from it. I also have a day playing with my stencils and different mediums and colours every now and again and use them when they suit.

This was my first attempt at colouring a dragon from Sherri Baldy!! Being a non traditional girl I decided to do blue for her with pink bows and purple for the little girl. I just never got round to using it so I thought this would be a good time. I received a free peacock folder in a magazine and used it for the background on white card. I took purple gilding wax and using my fingers rubbed it over to highlight it. then matted it on some purple card then some blue mirror card. I found a paper in white and purple that matched and layered it ont some blue mirror card too. I put some glitter ribbon vertically and 3 purple flower brads top and side. I cut 2 butterflies from the same blue mirror card and put them on each corner facing different angles and then a couple of pink gems finished it off.

This card was another simple make. I used a leaf and heart mask from Nicky Hall with red glitter and placed it on some green card which I embossed with an embossalicious folder.  I had already printed off and decoupaged the flower from fabulous shoes cd by Katy Sue. I already had made the bow from a Robert Adams template so I stuck them all together found a sentiment and cut out a green backing with a spellbinder die from the same green card. Another quick make but if i'd have been starting from scratch it would have taken about an hour I think.
This is a card I made while messing about teaching my gorgeous 4yr old nephew about stamping etc. Every Wed since he was born I've kept him and can't imagine life without him. So I teach him everything I can my house is like a tornado site when he goes home but for 1 day I don't care. Anyway I bought him his own stamps of rockets robots spacemen sharks treasure and sealife etc. So while he was stamping with them I picked up a chloe stamp of a bauble wreath. I used 3 different distress ink colours which were peeled paint, Victorian velvet and a yellow one. I then stamped the image at random over a piece of white card. I took another piece of white card and stamped the image one on top of the other in the 3 colours too. Finally I stamped it in glue lightly & sprinkled white glitter to give it a shine. I bought the beautiful poinsettias from Samaflora 36 for £7 amazing value and they are an amazing design. I used my ek success scissor circle and cut round my design when dry and put the flower in the middle. Then I cut a piece of purple pearlescent card slightly bigger with my circle cutter and layered them. From the same piece of card I used a spellbinder label die and cut out the sentiment i'd stamped that came with the chloe die which I'd embossed in a purple chloe wow powder. I also inked thru the die with a purple ink to give it some shading. I used a fancy label die to cut out the border in a different colour of purple and then put it all together. Not bad for some messing about. I find the more I do it the more Tyler wants to do it. His dad is also an artist who paints some amazing images. I want Tyler to be my business manager when he grows up as he was selling his art I aske how much for and he said £160 lol amazing. Me I tend to give mine to charity. But I enjoy what I do sooooo much. Till next time xx

.
Well I thought I'd try a boy card as i'd coloured the image even though I didn't need it. It turned out to be a Christmas card too!  I had a piece of white card that i'd put a xmas stencil on and put glue thru and glitter on top. I also had some white card i'd stamped an xmas design on in versamark and embossed in black (just from a days playing of course). So they just seemed to be perfect for this image. I layered the red and white on black card then inked round the edges of the black embossed one in grey and layered in on some red and black card. I put the image on red card and found a sentiment I already had and layered it on a snowflake. I die cut two red and silver poinsettias for embellishments and voila a card was born lol.
My first ever goth inspired card. I've been asked to make a goth inspired card and it was all last minute so I just sat down a found an image and did what I liked lol. I took a pieced of red card that i'd put clear texture paste thru then used a tonic diamond swing punch down both sides and placed black half pearls at intervals. I had a piece of black card and put some red lace and white ribbon across it b4 putting the red card on top of that. I put my image on that then used a couple of diamond shaped diamanté embellishments on each side of it. I then added a flower design black spray, silver leaf and white & red flowers.  Unfortunately when I then took my time to read my txt I realised it was for a 13yr old girl who wanted purple so I had to start all over again!! But I did make a lovely card only I forgot to photograph the new one and its gone now oh well I had fun anyway.

Another small selection of this years Christmas cards. They're all pretty diverse and I hope appealing to all genre's as it means I can use everything I love!  They've all been pretty simple to put together too as I've a lot to make!  I've used spellbinders, Marianne, die'sire & tonic dies creative expressions, couture creations embossing folders  Martha stewart, tonic & ek success punches, hunky-dory toppers along with all my stash & i'm having a ball.

This has to be one of my favourite to make as it incorporates my passion to make backgrounds. I simply put glue thru a stamps away mask onto some centura pearl & covered it with mica beads. It not only looks amazing but it so textured and tactile. I layered it on red card with a sleigh topper a centura pearl border cream and brown lace and gems to finish.

This is my attempt at sue wilsons fire and ice technique. I took a chloe background Christmas stamp and stamped and gilded it. I covered it in double sided adhesive and covered that in clear sparkle glitter used embossing folders on white centura pearl for the backgrounds and a spellbinder die to make the black frame. I embellished it with gold & black ribbon and cut some snowflakes with a Marianne die in black gold and white. An interesting break from tradition.

This is a small selection of my Christmas cards for this year I'm a pretty organised person so I like to be ready in plenty of time.

Friday 9 August 2013

I love this card!!! Its so elegant and simple miles away from my usual glitter and mess lol. I used 1 sheet of card from hunky-dory xmas blockbuster elegant section. I cut the dress from one corner and layered it onto red then silver card. Then I layered the other side onto red and silver card from C&C too I put a deep red lace border with some white over the top. I used a Marianne holly die and cut it from red card then I put a white feather behind it and some green gems just to be different. I stamped a xmas sentiment in green and layered it on red and silver too.
My fun this evening. Who needs a stencil lol. I had kept the waste from some flowers I had pushed out and tonight I put my texture paste thru it onto red card. Then of course I had to add some mica and made some mint green on centura pearl now what to do with them tomorrow.
One of todays creations lol. Omg did I have fun today lol. This card was made from the fabulous shoes cd of katy sue. Who wouldn't love these designs they're awesome. I used 1 backing paper & decoupaged the shoe. The rest came from my stash. Red background card with a spellbinder edge at the bottom. A bit of red lace & blue ribbon then lots more flowers and four ceramic flowers in each corner. & a sentiment & voila. I forgot to take a photo of inside which has a flower topper with a fancy pop out insert covered in the same backing paper.
