Stamping Dragon Designs 31st March

My dt card for Stamping Dragon Designs fb page for March 2014 at Stamping Dragon Designs.  A lovely sentiment and flowers as well what more do you need really?  So I picked a couple of coordinating pink and green papers and backed them with cream card. I then put my topper (coloured with promarkers) on some dark green card to emphasise it and used a punch on one edge.  Then I cut out a flower from the store shaped it and layered it with a gem in the middle.  I added some leaves from my stash and a pretty card was born lol.  Oh and I stuck some cute toadstools and flowers on for fun.  My son saw it on the fireplace and said that's nice!!  I nearly fell over from shock lol.  He wouldn't let me make him a valentine card for his girl!!

Challenge card

Hi all I've just popped in to show you my card I made for some challenges. I made this card using a Sherry Baldy stamp from her Bestie range. I love Dragons and I'm lucky to be on the stamping dragon design team!!  Anyway back to the card lol. I've just got myself a silhouette portrait which I had a play with and created some gorgeous texture overlays and I've used a purple (my fav colour) one in the background over some green patterned paper.  My image was already coloured with promarkers so I took my colours from it. I like to have play days when I make backgrounds (I love texture paste and glitter paste) and days when I just colour etc. I cut it the image out with a Tonic die and used the same purple for the mat. I also used a Tonic die for the Bring me Sunshine sentiment. Then I added another toning paper and some flowers and leaves. Hope you like plz let me know. cya l8r xx

Digi Stamps for Joy March 2014 Christmas Card no 3

Hi Guys I'm back again with my Christmas Card using the monthly freebie from Digi Stamps for Joy South Africa   http://digistamps4joy-sa.blogspot.co.uk/

This month we were given a sheet of sentiments to use.  Originally I thought omg what do I do with this as they were pretty tight together so it took me a while to get going!  But I kept thinking about it and ended up with a few ideas.  One was to print it onto coloured paper as a background, then I thought about using my inks to colour it as a background.  But first I cut out some sentiments individually that I liked just to see what I could get cut and what I liked. So as you can see from the photo I cut "I Believe" and "The Magic of Christmas" and used them together. You can't tell from the pic but i've covered them with Crafters Companion spray and sparkle too. I picked a Creata pretty reindeer card as my backing and simply worked from there. I used Creata green Mirror Board as mats for my words and red for my background mat.  I added a Crafters Companion icicle die cut in green onto the bottom of my main words then added some snowflakes in gold and green with red gems in the centre and a red heart to finish.  I'm happy with the finished result so let me know what you think plz.  Till next time from Jacqui xx

Spring Challenges

Spring is in the air?  Nope definitely not here its blowing a gale and freezing so I made a spring card for all the Spring Challenges popping up everywhere lol.  I used the Stamping Dragon Designs vintage clock fo3r this challenge and I cut it out with a Tonic die and used a little distress ink while in the die for definition. I popped it on a purple mat and my topper was done voila! lol  The background is quite awesome as its a leafy mask with green glitter paste through, gotta have texture you know. I used a 5 & 3/4 square card with purple on the base.  I used SB and Tattered lace dies to cut the flowers and leaves out in the main corner.  I also cut 6 mini flowers for around the clock in purple with silver bling gems on them.  I added a sentiment from my ever growing stash and my work was done.  Do you like i'd love to know. Till l8r from Jacqui

I'm entering the following challenges:

Stamping Dragon Designs Vintage Lady Silhouette 24th March

I have to say when I first saw this image I wasn't 100% sure what to do but once I started to work with her I could see how it would really work especially in scrapbooks.  It would be great for an alternative baby card too blowing a kiss to the baby etc.  And as a lover of Art Deco etc I love the vintage design.

To be honest I had most of this stuff in my stash from a play day with masks mediums and mica beads.  So once i'd decided what it would look best with (kraft card and black mats) of I went. I put my image on a black mat then put the kraft with black stencil medium through a mask on a black mat.  I took a CC border embossing folder and placed some toning neutral card through the ebosser then onto black.  I took the large corner flourish with the same medium on it but using a stencil this time, and cut out a black mat for it.  After placing it I put some white diecut leaves on each end with some black and cream ceramic flowers to finish.  Quick simple and pretty my favorite!  Hope to see you soon or even pop on over to our fb page where we chat, moan and earn loyalty points and there's a great freebie section to start you off. xx

Stamping Dragon Designs Flowers for Mum March 17th

My FB Inspiration piece for the week beginning 17th March.  I used the Flowers for Mum from Stamping Dragon Designs. I coloured it with promarkers and cut it out with an SB die then inked through the die for the accents. I used a 7x5 card base in blue then cut out my sentiment and a layer for it in red and stuck on some matching flowers.  I also cut some yellow banners coming out of the topper.  I added a couple of white corners and some blue gems to finish. So another quick but pretty card. Thanks for stopping by.

Stamping Dragon Designs - Lets go green

This is my entry for the Stamping Dragon Challenge. I've used the image of Pennys Discovery as its predominantly green.  I teamed it with some green papers and used a gold mat. Then I embellished it with a Tonic Frame and some pink flourishes and some card candi, Tattered Lace leaves and my large rose made from a Green Button from Stamping Dragon Designs. I love this image as its girly and soft and can be used for a different kind of New Baby card.  Sometimes we need something different.  So often people end up with 2 or 3 of the same baby card.  And if I was scrapbooking i'd want to keep the different ones that people are going to look at twice!  Anyway enough for now got loads more to do so cya next time.

Each time I see this card it reminds me of a poem from school lol.

He'll sleep in the barn to keep himself warm and tuck his head under his wing poor thing.

But I digress as usual lol.  My sample for SDD for the week of March 3rd.  I used the awesome digi stamp March Winds from SDD and coloured it with promarkers.  I then stamped a leafy branch from Sheena Douglas above her and added some green leaves.  I also added some Ivy leaves blowing in the wind.  I embellished the corner with flowers using a Tattered Lace and a SB die.  I added some green mirror board from Creata found the green and purple paper in my stash and added more green mirror board and set it on and 8x8 base to finish. This stamp is new and different just what we crafters like. So check it out and join our fb page where we chat, moan, do challenges and get loyalty points for £3 to spend in the shop for every 50 points and you have loads of freebies on there to join in with so its worth it. Stamping Dragon - Home Tweet Home

I wanted to share with you a quick little card I made with theNew Home Tweet Home Kit from Stamping Dragon Designs  I had my background ready from a day playing with glitter paste and masks and as it matched my image it was perfect.  So I printed my image and cut it out with a die and then cut a layer in kraft card and a mat in pink card with the bigger size die. I then layered my background on some white card and some more pink.  Using a stitch ruler I marked the white card all way round.  I then wrapped some pink flat ribbon and some pink fluffy ribbon round the base and placed my topper on it.  I added a pink heart and some pink and gold card candy to embellish.  Hope you like it cos I do.

Crafting Musketeers - Art Deco

I can't remember why this challenge caught my eye but it did and i'm entering because I love the theme!
I do have some art deco stuff in my stash and i'm sure I only bought it as I love the Art Deco Era lol.  So when this caught my eye of course I HAD to enter lol.  I made a quick little card using a 5 and 3qtrs card base.  I used a topper, frame and backing paper from my stash from an art deco paper kit then used gold for my mat. I cut my gold mat then added my paper and wrapped some green and gold ribbon round it.  I put my green and gold frame on top with foam pads and then my topper on higher foam pads.  I used some gold jewellry findings on the top corner with purple gems on them.  In the bottom corner I added some green and white feathers and a recycled jewellry item made from gold and purple on top to embellish and that was it.  I wish they all came together so quickly!!  You know the drill let me know what you think? Pretty plz

Kaboodle Doodles - Use Embossing

This is my first time entering this challenge.  And I found it through Fran who is on my DT team at Stamping Dragon.  I actually love to stamp as well as use digis and I had this image in my topper box from a day playing with gilding flakes.  Its a heartfelt creations stamp onto black card with gold flakes. Then re stamped and  cut out to decoupage.  I also used a mask with black glitter paste through it and cut out sections for the corner.  The background is a Crafters Companion embossing folder onto white centura pearl and frayed burlap distress ink round the edges. I also used another CC script folder to make another section with lace and twine wrapped round it.  All my mats are kraft card.  I tore the edges of my topper to distress it. I simply added some card candy and some best wishes dekromounts to finish.  I really like this card so let me know what you think?  Till next time Jacqui

This is for the Kaboodles Doodles Embossing Challenge - http://kaboodledoodles.blogspot.co.uk/

Elaines Christmas Fun - Baubles and Bows

I made this card for Elaines Christmas Fun Challenge - Baubles and Bows

I try to do this challenge as often as possible simply because I love Christmas and its just for fun.  I'm not driven by what i can win I just want to create and sometimes people lose sight of that.  I already had the bauble in my stash and just went with its colours of purple and silver.  I added a purple bow on top with a small gem. I even had the base ready from a play day with masks texture paste and mica beads.  I put some mica beads into some stencil medium and spread it through a mask!  I added a couple of small silver corners for some added sparkle. I used an A5 base with some silver patterened card on a purple base.  I simply added some purple ribbon round the bottom and made a large bow.  I used a silver embellishment from my stash in the centre with a purple gem on top to finish.  A quick card in my favourite colour (purple) but still beautiful.  Once again I hope you let me know what you think.

Another Blue and White

This is the second blue and white Christmas Card i've made lately and I wanted to combine it with another challenge to make a stepper card which made it slightly more difficulty.  I'm not really a stepper card kind of crafter and as i'm trying to challenge myself with different card bases I decided to give it a go. Once i'd decided what to use it was pretty straight forward (my problem is I can never decide what to use lol). I found the base in my box and went delving through my stash for stuff to use.  The Snow was my first choice and as it went well with the Blue and White theme it was easy.  Then I decided on trees as I needed some height behind the snow to balance it. The rest as they say was easy (well the saying is history but doesn't really work lol).  The background card in blue and white came from my scrap box (and yes i do try to use up as many scraps as possible before getting any new) and also the white card for the trees.  I then found a blue piece to match in my card box.  I simply cut 3 sizes of trees out with my Crafters Companion Christmas Tree die and layered them onto my card. I ran some blue and white ribbon and lace along the bottom before sticking my snow sign on.  To finish I added some blue half pearls. Quite a quick one once you make your choices.  I do hope you like and plz let me know. Thanks Jacqui

Stamping Dragon Designs - A Tiny Bouquet Quote Border

http://dragonslairdesigns.com/shop/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&search_in_description=1&keyword=A+Tiny+Bouquet

My sample for SDD March 3rd 2014. Ok I admit it I went to town with this one but its so pretty and my niece loves it so much she wants it!  Ok where to start I wonder. So I cut my border out twice once with the SB die keeping the white frame and then on its own.  I also cut a black mat with the SB die and added some black gems.  I used an 8x8 card with a black base then I took the Tonic Regal punch (I only know its Regal cos its the only one of the new set I bought lol) to the bottom of some black and white card and layered it onto the black. I had some card in my stash that i'd used a mask and clear gel medium through so I took some red pan pastel to it and turned it pink. I popped 2 pink doilys behind my image then put some faux gems in black backing down the side.  I added some white leave embellishements and some flowers from my stash and finally I put some pink opaque gems at the bottom.  So what do you think OTT or not?  I love it any way and I'm certainly not a plain and simple woman lol (ask my partner hehe).

So that's it for this post off to the next cya soon xxx
