Open Minded Crafting Fun Challenges #18/30th August/Job Related using Faery Ink Stylist

Hi there crazy bloggers (i've concluded that cos i'm crazy you all must be too lol)
Today i've got a DT post for Open Minded Crafting Fun Challenges.  For this project I got to work with Faery Ink who are one of our sponsors and I chose the image Beautician/Stylist as it reminds me of my daughter who's a Beauty Therapist.

My daughter is real girly girl so I chose pinks & purples and a dark brown hair tone.  I decided to put her in a shop front as I have this template from one of the Katy Sue Fabulous Shoes/Fashion cds.
I cut out the template and covered the front piece with an awesome handbag paper in pinks & browns.  I used a Sue Wilson die to cut the aperture/window and used the bit I removed to put my image on inside. I coloured the inside with pinflair buff it in pink. After folding appropriate lines I stuck the two pieces together. I added pink glitter all the way round the image using double sided tape. I made my own sentiment on the computer and cut it out with a SB die. I added two pink mirror board panels using a Sue Wilson border die and two dandelion flowers using the Tattered Lace die. After that I just embellished using a Crafters Companion bunting strip, some silver scissors & fabric & ceramic flowers from my stash. Finally some pale pink Hunkydory glitter on the banner.

I'd love to hear what you think of it?
Till next time crafters

Sister Act Challenge DT project 29th August

Hi folks when you're reading this I shall be sunbathing with a cocktail in sunny Majorca.  Ok I don't really drink anything stronger than a shandy or the occasional glass of wine but it sounded good hehe. And it better be blinkin sunny or i'll cry! Anyway down to business here's my DT project for the Sister Act Card Challenge.  This week we're sponsored by Digital Delights but no images were provided so we had free reign again. So here's my creation (i'm doing my Christmas Cards at the minute, can you tell lol?).

For this project I used: A  Dreamee aperture card template
Crafters Companion Topper
Chloe snowflake stamp to make my own paper (on right)
Red & silver ink
Snowflake paper from stash
Spellbinder poinsettia die
Joy, Marianne & Tonic dies for foliage/flourish
A stocking from my stash & gems to finish.
I'm doing really well with my Christmas Cards and I hope you like what you see (if you're my friend you might be receiving it lol)

Sister Act August 22nd Deasy Designs Magical Carnival

I'm so excited woohoo I just can't hide it i'm off on holiday and oh yeah I like it.  Sorry but these mundane songs ramble around in my head & you know me I love to share but do you know what it is hehehe.

So anyway i'm officially of on holiday today to Majorca and I soooo need a break and some lovely sun!! But I still have a project to share with you for Sister Act Challenge Blog and here it is!  And by the way I MADE A BOYS CARD whoopee I made a boys card!!

This project is using Deasy Designs Magical Carnival which I coloured with my Spectrum Noirs then cut out leaving a white border.
Then I found 2 bright & beautiful papers in my stash & matted them onto some white card.
I also used a music die (by Joy I think!) and a Lalaland banner die.
I added some blue twine to both layers and a mini bucket (which is soooooooo cute lol). Clowns are always running about with buckets of water lol.
To finish I used one of the sentiments that come with the images and layered it onto some blue card then I added a camera charm (cos we need to take pics at the carnival).
After edging my sentiment with chipped sapphire distress ink I curved it with my fingers & stuck it on with my glue gun.  I also added a big blob of glue under the curved bit so that when it dries it won't flatten.
So my dear bloggers that's it from me today but of course i've scheduled some of my own craziness for you so you won't miss me when i'm away. :)

Jacqui over and out (on a plane to Majorca) xx

Sister Act DT project for September 26th

Hi there all my awesome crafting friends what ya up to??
I'm on a Christmas Card Roll woohoo
I've got soooo many Christmas Cards made now it's awesome  no last minute rush for me yayy.  So what do you think of this one?

I started off with this image that I found in my stash already coloured (no idea where it came from sorry!). I used some red distress ink round the edges & some glitter. Then I cut my base with a spellbinder die from red mirror card. I have some 7x5" cards in my stash so I used one for my base (i'm trying to use up some things from my stash instead of my usual 8x8!).  It actually was perfect for my image. I embossed some white card with a Crafters Companion holly embossalicious folder and layered it on some red & gold Creata mirror card. I used a Chloe small holly stamp with Wow gold embossing powder to make the holly flower. Then I used Cheery Lynn & Marianne dies for the foliage. And to finish a gem & some berrys. What do you think? I'd love to know. Thanks for stopping by.

Use Your Stuff GDT project 2 Home 18th August 2014

Hi again i'm back with some crazy madness for you, well it's 2.12am & I can't sleep (i'm a little bit sick) & I don't want to keep poor David awake by tossing and turning so i've come to chat nonsense with my favouite nutcases (I mean really normal friends of course) hahaha.  Ok today is my 2nd GDT project for Use Your Stuff Challenge Blog.  And this time the theme is home.  Easy peasy lemon squeasy!!! As i'm in the middle of doing my Christmas Cards I decided to do a decoration and here it is.

I had real fun with this one I took a chip board bauble and painted it purple, and  stamped & embossed it in silver with a background stamp (one of the Justrite ones). Then I decided I didn't like the colour scheme  so I found a tin of purple spray & sprayed it all over. While it was drying I found some dekromount words etc & using the hohoho pushed into versamark & embossed in gold powder. I decided to go for decadence and added white half pearls all the way round the edge.  Using a spellbinder poinsettia die I cut out I cut out 5 layers in gold & purple & embossed the detail into them too. Then I simply pinched the ends to shape them some more and glued them together. I pulled the lower leaves up higher & place some glue from a gun under them so the when it dried it wouldn't flatten.  I then tied a triple purple bow for the top I cut a gold circle so I could place one of my fancy snowflake embellishments on top of the knot to finish it off.

So I think that's all the gory details now so remember to let me know if you like it.
Till next time Jacqui over and out!

SDD Name Change

Hi there once again all you lovely crafty people. I've just popped in with a quick post about my Design Team Stamping With The Dragon.

Stamping with the Dragon challenge blog has changed it's name from Stamping with the Dragon to Crafting with the Dragon.  Crafting with the Dragon encompasses ALL crafting people and not just stamps so we've changed the name so no-one gets confused.

We've also decided that from now on if you follow the theme for Crafting with the Dragon Challenge you may use whatever images you wish not just Stamping with the Dragon Designs.

So hope to see you over there soon.

Have fun & keep crafting

Sister Act 15th August using Whoopsi Daisy Sheet 541

Hi again everyone in blogland hope you're having a productive day. Its only 1wk till my holiday YIPPEE Majorca here I come. I'm so excited 10 days of Sun, Sea, & (what's the other one?) oh yes SAND lol.  And now i've tickled your fancy i'll get down to business at last hehe with my Sister Act Card Challenge DT project.

Whoopsi Daisy are our sponsors for this challenge and i've used the lovely image from sheet 541. As i'm not a great colourer these suit me perfectly as you get a line art and a coloured image.  So before I give you the details here's my finished sample.

Although its hard to tell I really did take my colour scheme from the image lol.
I used Whoopsi Daisy sheet 541
The flowers are yellow & their centres are orange. First of all I decided to use the yellowy mustard card then I found the background paper that went so well with it and it had orange in it so I got out my Create and Craft Mirror Board in orange and it all worked really well. After sorting out the papers it was down to the pretty stuff, dies, flowers & glitter yayyy! I used Spellbinders, Sue Wilson, Tattered Lace Tonic, and a Joy die for all my embellishments and added some gold gems s a bow & some glitter to finish.

So another one bites the dust woohoo. Till next time Jacqui over and out

Use Your Stuff GDT project 11th August Inspired by a Dr Seuss Quote

Hi all i've been asked to be a Guest Design Team Member for an awesome challenge called "Use Your Stuff" and for Inspiration we had to use a Dr Seuss Quote. Well I think this challenge is awesome & i'm gonna try to keep up with it cos we all have way too much stuff we never use!! So the Dr Seuss Quote I chose for my inspiration was this.

I like nonsense it wakes up the brain cells
Fantasy is a necessary ingredient for living
It's a way at looking at life through the wrong
 end of a telescope
Which is what I do
And that enables you to laugh at lifes realities.

And here is what I made

Nothing says fantasy more than a fairy so I used a Lavinia topper & a black mat. The base is a scenery piece also on a black mat. Then I used a tonic regal punch in black with a band of green glitter card. Using a Sue Wilson die I cut a decorative strip of green glitter card and added it to my topper edge. I cut the sentiment & clock from a Crafters Companion cd. I used a Marianne die to cut the flowers from paper on the same cd and added leaves I cut out from a sheet. (I've had it so long I can't remember where I got it lol)
To finish I added a couple of ceramic flowers down the side.  All these items have been in my stash quite some time and I felt really good using them at last so i'd recommend this challenge to anyone!

I really hope you like what I made & leave me some feedback too.

Thanks again crafty bloggers Jacqui over and out!!
